Induction Hobs
Induction hobs are used as a safer way of cooking food in a metal pot or pan. Unlike a gas hob, induction hobs don’t use a flame. In fact, no heat is generated from the hob itself. This is what makes it so much safer and the risk of a burn or other injury is significantly less. Even if you place your hand on the induction hob when it’s on, you won’t get burned – although it may be hot if a pan had recently been removed.
Heat is produced on the bottom of the pan rather than from the hob through the induction technology. This is much more efficient and heats up food faster. It’s also more energy efficient than standard gas hobs.
Cleaning an induction hob is easy since it’s only a flat surface. Food doesn’t burn to the surface when spilled as the surface isn’t hot, making it easy to wipe up. It’s also easy to control how much the induction hob heats up the pan due to its precise controls. Induction hobs turn off when the pan is removed as it can detect when one is there or not. This means power isn’t wasted unnecessarily.
